Mother and Wife
My husband Shane and I have been married for 15 years and we have 1 daughter, Caroline. Caroline attends Oak-Land Middle School and is in 7th grade. We have 2 dogs, Dakota and Dublin. Our family enjoys traveling together throughout the US and the world. We lived in Switzerland for 3 years from 2016-2019 and traveled to 23 different countries and 4 continents. My husband, Shane works at Ecolab in St Paul. We live in Baytown Township.
Teacher and Administrator
I was a teacher for 10 years in 4 different school systems. I taught high school science. I mainly taught 9th grade Physical Science but also taught Biology, Physics, and Earth Science. I was a 9th grade Assistant Principal in charge of discipline in my last school. I have worked in very diverse schools with a high number of diverse student backgrounds. I taught inclusion classes that included special education students. I hold a BS majoring in biology, minoring in chemistry and including a teaching certificate and an MEd in Educational Leadership.
Leader
I am a part of the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Volunteer Team. I have served the local and International MOPS community for 12 years. I led my local group and served on the leadership team for many years. I have helped run the International MOPS convention as an Event Planner for 7 years. I am the president of our homeowners association, serving twice. While teaching, I was chosen as the grade leader and subject leader. I have been a member of the parent association at 2 different schools and taken on leadership roles including planning carnivals, parent meetings, and the winter market. I am a proven leader that does what I say with integrity and responsibility.
